Flavo
Flavo was built to solve a growing structural problem in Bangladesh’s restaurant industry: dependence on overcrowded food delivery marketplaces charging 15–40% commission while owning the customer relationship.
As online food ordering in Bangladesh surpassed US$100M in annual volume and continued to grow rapidly, thousands of small and medium-sized restaurants faced shrinking margins, limited brand differentiation, and zero access to their own customer data.
Flavo was designed as a direct-to-restaurant digital ecosystem — enabling restaurants to own their online presence, customer data, and profitability.
The platform combined:
- Custom-branded online ordering websites
- Integrated online payments
- Real-time order management
- POS integration
- Delivery network integration
- Back-office dashboard with analytics
- Customer history tracking and loyalty tools
- Upsell and cross-sell features
- QR-based direct ordering systems
Unlike marketplace competitors, Flavo introduced a flat per-order service fee model instead of commission-based revenue sharing, allowing restaurants to retain the majority of their profits while maintaining full control over brand identity and customer experience.
The strategy positioned Flavo as a white-labeled infrastructure partner rather than a marketplace intermediary — empowering restaurants to build direct engagement, increase repeat orders, and strengthen customer loyalty.
The long-term roadmap included CRM tools, AI integrations, self-ordering kiosks, POS systems, and custom mobile apps — building toward a full-stack restaurant technology platform.
Flavo was not simply an ordering tool — it was a structural alternative to monopolistic marketplace dependency.
My Contributions
- Co-founded Flavo and led overall business strategy and commercial direction
- Identified structural inefficiencies in Bangladesh’s food delivery ecosystem and developed a direct-ordering solution model
- Designed the full business model, including flat service fee pricing architecture
- Built comprehensive financial projections and 3-year revenue roadmap
- Defined TAM, SAM, and SOM market opportunity and go-to-market strategy
- Structured MVP rollout plan and pilot testing framework
- Designed growth phases: pilot validation, scale-up acquisition, and hyper-growth strategy
- Developed competitive positioning against marketplace incumbents
- Led investor fundraising strategy and prepared full pitch deck
- Defined long-term product roadmap including CRM, POS integration, kiosks, and AI tools
- Positioned Flavo as a brand empowerment and margin-protection platform for SMEs
