Wekick
Wekick was built as a mobile-first platform to simplify how people play and organize pickup soccer. The idea addressed a common challenge: pickup games were fun to play but hard to coordinate, often relying on scattered chats, unreliable attendance, and no way to track performance. Wekick brought everything into one unified ecosystem where players could discover games, organize matches, build their soccer identity, and participate in a growing community.
The platform combined game discovery, event management, and player profiling into a single experience. Users could find nearby games, join instantly, or create and manage their own sessions with tools for invitations, attendance tracking, and scheduling. Wekick also introduced the concept of a digital soccer resume, allowing players to track matches played, goals, assists, MVP votes, and rankings while climbing community leaderboards. As the concept evolved, the platform expanded to support structured leagues and tournaments, enabling teams to manage squads, view fixtures, follow standings, and compete more formally — bridging the gap between casual pickup soccer and organized competition.
Wekick ultimately positioned itself as a grassroots soccer ecosystem, transforming informal matches into a connected journey where players could play more consistently, track progress, and feel part of a larger soccer network. This foundation later informed the broader vision of Wekick as a technology-driven soccer platform focused on participation, performance, and community.
